Very funny first novel about a 47 year old single, jewish, freelance writer who finally picks up the clue phone and realizes she is a lesbian. She then goes through a "sexual adolescence" and finds herself doing the stupid things that a fifteen-year-old would do. Sick with unrequited love, she moves to Washington DC to win over the woman of her dreams with hilarious results. This is both a funny story and a moving story. Like the best of comedy, it is the heartbreaking moments that make the story complete and fulfilling. Very good first novel told in the first person.
