IDENTITY AND AGENDA OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

He first comes to us as the GLORIOUS ENDUEMENT (the Gift), resides in the garden of our heart proving His presence in us with GODLY EXHIBITS (the Fruit), and blessing us with GRACIOUS ENDOWMENTS (the Gifts). He is the third Person of the Godhead but the first Person to be revealed in the Scriptures. It is His presence that leads to the acknowledgement of Christ's Lordship (I Cor. 12:3), spiritual power (I Thess. 1:5), inward joy (I Thess. 1:6), moral purity (I Thess. 4:7-8), and an inner witness of being God's children (Rom. 8:15-16, Gal. 4:6). Without Him who dwells in us as in a temple (I Cor. 3:16), we cannot be Christians or continue as Christians. He is the Holy Spirit. A clearer understanding of the doctrine of the Holy Spirit is vital for our understanding of God's doings in the world in general, the life and work of Christ Jesus and the Christian experience singly and corporately.
