For Holly Hemmings these were the best of times. She was the uncontested queen of suspense thrillers in paperback for the day.

After years of enjoying a loyal following, however, fate sadly predicted a different outcome.

Unknown to the beloved author, a silent, undetected disease affecting her mental processes was settling in, suspected by those around her, but not detected by the author herself.

Her fans, luckily, were that last to know. Holly found herself comfortable only with those loyal fans, and in an effort to understand her new situation, wished only to surround herself with them in the only setting she found comfort in.

Someone was willing to stop at nothing to protect a plush existence, and to remain the recipient of wealth never created or built by him. A lifetime of privilege which he felt was his due, why else would be having felt this way?

His plan was to let the party play out a little longer, but he lacked the skills of Holly Hemmings to see the pitfalls in his scheme. He also lacked the close friends of many years who, guided by love and understanding did their best to bring their friend safely home.
