• PUTS A FACE ON THE ISSUE OF UNHOUSED YOUTH: "Unaccompanied homeless youth" is the official description of kids who are not living at home but are not in the foster system. These are kids who have run away from home, have been abandoned by parents, who couch surf with friends, sleep on park benches or in their cars. The National Alliance to End Homelessness puts the number of unhoused youth at 1.7 million, but it's a gross underestimate, since these kids are hiding and do not want to be found. This book will open up a much-needed conversation about who these kids are and how we can support them and end generational cycles of trauma, abuse, and poverty.
