Immortal Love & Betrayal

Aquentis was born in the time of Atlantis and was made the very first Immortal by a curse. For more than fifteen thousand years he has lived looking for his true love. During that time, he has meet great historical figures and founded the immortal nation. With more than five hundred thousand Immortals some good and some evil Aquentis finds it hard to control them all. He comes up with a clever way to deal with them until an ancient immortal decides to try to overthrow him and try to kill not only his wife, but their children. Terra is the second immortal ever made she is also from the time of Atlantis. She and Aquentis were lovers for thousands of years until a falling out over how immortals should interact with mortals. Now Terra wants what she believes is rightfully hers. She believes as Aquentis first lover and second oldest immortal she should rule the immortal nation and not him. Since his wife is dying and Terra sees Aquentis and Laurel's children as illegitimate and not fit to rule since their mother is mortal.
Aquentis has plans for Laurel. Not only does he want to be with her for all time he also wants her to rule the immortal nation as its Queen. Laurel is the matriarch of her family's line. Her family is of royal blood, Aquentis believes that this makes her ideal to rule the immortal nation, but there is a flaw in his plan. Laurel does not want to be an immortal. The thought of it frightens her, but Aquentis knows she would be a great Queen. He would make her greater than any other immortal. Terra tries to poison Laurel with a very rare flower. Someone in her house has betrayed them all and helped Terra try and kill Laurel and her children.
