I dropped Esther in front of Fred's house and thankfully, Fred's car was there suggesting he was home. I asked her if she wanted me to walk her to the door.
"No ,I'm fine," she responded.
"You sure?"
"Yep. Just give me a couple of seconds, I'll be right back," Esther said weakly and started heading to the front door.
"Alright, waiting."
I saw Esther open the front door but then she just stood by the door. I thought that was odd. I turned off my car engine, got out and gently closed the door. I picked a stick that was close to my car and started walking carefully towards Esther. My heart was pounding heavily but I had to be courageous .
Quietly and carefully I moved closer to the door where she was. I scouted out my environment to make sure there wasn't anything or anyone harmful around. Everywhere seemed peaceful except for some curious muffled sound coming from Fred's house. I got to where Esther was and I couldn't see anything that could have immobilized her for so long at first until I followed her line of vision. There they were! The love-making couple who couldn't keep their voice down. That was the muffled sound I was hearing. It was sickening.
Esther had walked in on Fred cheating on her on the night of her bridal shower!
I don't know how Esther could have seen that and still had the strength to keep standing.

I didn't know when the stick in my hand fell to the floor.Esther was still staring into space, tears pouring out of her eyes but she wasn't making any sound, neither was she moving. In my little moment of confusion, I wanted to console Esther, and at the same time I was calculating the implication of the noise of the stick I had mistakenly dropped. I bent to pick it up and mistakenly tipped the crystal ball on a stand which fell and shattered on the floor with a loud noise. All these happened in a flash.
Fred and the woman were suddenly aware of their environment. It was an agonizing moment for all of us. Some were disgraced. Some embarrassed. Some were hurt. They were scurrying around like cockroaches in the dark, looking for their clothes which were scattered all over and they were trying their best to hide their naked bodies from our intently watching eyes.
Esther's breath got heavier. Her eyes were not blinking at all and her fists were tightly clenched by her sides. Tears mixed with mascara left black tracks on her cheeks.
"Let's get out of here," I told her. But she didn't respond. Her eyes were shooting fiery daggers at the other woman who was hurriedly slipping into a gown. The woman wore the gown and dashed towards the door. She just wanted to disappear. As she attempted to breeze past us out of the house, Esther grabbed her arm firmly with her left hand and looked her straight in the eyes, seemingly draining life out of her. Fred made the mistake of his life by attempting to speak up at this time.
"Honey, please let her go" he began saying.
"Shut up!" Esther shouted as she shot him an angry look. "You've invaded my space. I'll have a conversation with you and then you can leave," Esther told her with a frosty voice. She was as frozen as polar ice. All the lotus heat had dissipated.
"What's your relationship with him?" Esther asked her, still holding on to her arm firmly.
"I'm waiting," Esther warned.
The woman hesitated and said, "You better let me go or else I'll call the police and tell them you're harassing me."
Esther brought her phone close enough so the woman could see her screen and said, "you might want to watch this movie."
The woman looked to Fred to rescue her. "We're in this together. Don't just stand there. Tell this woman to get a grip on herself," she pleaded with Fred.
"Honey, please. I'm" he tried again.
"Shut up!" Esther yelled. It was so loud all of her body shook
Seeing how that Fred couldn't help her out of the situation, she tried to explain herse
