Either there is a God that created everything or there isn't. There is no third option. If there is no God, then everything in the universe, including the universe itself, had to exist for all eternity. The material in the universe would have to "have had no beginning". If the material universe did not exist for all eternity, where did it come from? Did something come from nothing? This, in and of itself, defies all logic. If we take the position that the material universe did exist for all eternity, we are still stuck with the question of where did all the material in the universe come from in the first place? The only answer is still it still came from nothing. Well, actually there is another answer but that brings us full circle to the existence of a Creator God.

Dr. Thiel discusses many facts of science and physics that all point to the logical conclusion that there must have been something that created the physical universe. It couldn't have just popped into existence in a Big Bang. He also explores some points put forth by some scientists and physicists that offer their own personal theories about the creation of the universe and humanity.

When learning of the overwhelming mathematical odds against life, atheist and astronomer Fred Hoyle was stunned. Here is an excerpt from Dr. Thiel's book: Fred Hoyle, the astronomer who coined the term "big bang," said that his atheism was "greatly shaken" at these developments. He later wrote that "a common-sense interpretation of the facts suggests that a super-intellect has monkeyed with the physics, as well as with chemistry and biology . . . . The numbers one calculates from the facts seem to me so overwhelming as to put this conclusion almost beyond question."

At least we read that Mr. Hoyle was, at least, willing to acknowledge the possibility that he may have to change his position on atheism. Now listen to the comments form a Nobel Prize winner, also taken from Dr. Thiel's book.

Nobel Prize winner Dr. George Wald, from Harvard University, stated the following: The reasonable view was to believe in spontaneous generation (life from nothing); the only alternative, to believe in a single, primary act of supernatural creation. There is no third position . . . One has only to contemplate the magnitude of this task to concede that the spontaneous generation of a living organism is impossible. Yet here we are, as a result I believe, of spontaneous generation (bolding in original).

Dr. Wald actually concedes that the only explanation for life is supernatural creation, yet he refuses to believe it. That statement goes beyond denying what is logical. That statement is an open admission of self-delusion.

Dr. Thiel goes on to discuss the laws of thermodynamics and the rate of decay of radioactive materials. He discusses Dr. Hawkings' theory of "imaginary time". He addresses Dr. Dawkins' novel "The God Delusion". There is also an interesting discussion on Charles Darwin and the complexity of DNA, information that wasn't available when Dr. Darwin wrote "The Origin of Species".

Whether you believe in a Creator God or a Big Bang, this book approaches the subject from a purely logical point of view. Yes, there are some judiciously quoted scriptures, but they are not used to support any logical position. The logic is based purely on the knowledge of science, physics, and mathematics as they relate to the known universe and the complexity of life.

For those that already believe in a Creator God, this book will help you make the logical case for a Creator to add to the spiritual case to made for a Creator, hopefully strengthening your faith.

For those whose faith lies in the god of atheism it is hoped this book will help you understand, as it did Fred Hoyle, that faith in atheism is not logical. And if that is the case, hopefully you will not be like Dr. Wald, who realized that believing life sprang from nothing was totally ill
