JAPANESE CONSPIRACY

For Author C.A. Collins the passage of many decades has not dulled the memory of her civics teacher of Japanese ancestry explaining to her class in an Oahu classroom in the mid-1960's her memories of being a nine year old that Sunday morning, December 7th, 1941.

Two decades earlier a trio of Honolulu businessmen had traveled to Washington DC to make their case to lift the importation of Chinese workers for the sugar plantations. This has been halted in 1882 with the passage of the Cheese Exclusion Act.

They feared the Empire of Japan" was hatching a plan to take over the islands.

Then half the population of the islands were of Japanese ancestry. Combining with the experience of living in Hawai'i during her formative years, and exhaustive research Collins seeks to dispel some of the gross misconceptions and blatant mis-representations of a very difficult era in Hawai'ian history and a very traumatic time for those of Japanese ancestry.
