Jack London (Jan 12, 1876 Nov 22, 1916) American writer and journalist. Born and grown up in California, he tried his luck in Alaska in the time of the Gold Rush, but unsuccessfully. During his writer's career he's written such novels as Martin Eden, The White Fang, The Sea-Wolf etc. and a lot of magnificent short stories. Jerry of the Islands is a novel by Jack London. The story follows an Irish terrier Jerry and his adventures. From dog's point of view here shown harshness and hopes of life, episodes of life of all variegated folks that can be met across the southern seas of America, from simple sailors to cruel cannibals.
