"This book is like a pot smoke-filled time machine; funny, serious, far-out, turned on, and groovy, all at the same time." If you're dying to know what it was like to survive the sixties, this book is the place to find out. And if you somehow skipped the flower power revolution, we will take you down the white rabbit hole for a long last look at what you missed. Seen through the eyes of a living relic, the author will gladly be your trip guide to a bygone era... For more info, see phosch.com.

A frustrated student with undiagnosed learning problems finds it almost impossible to learn in a classroom setting. Although creative and intelligent, he struggles through high school and college, continually disciplined for laziness and inattention instead of given the empathy and counseling he so desperately needs.

Alienated from parents and teachers, he takes LSD in a college dorm room which opens his eyes to a sparkling new reality. In the following months, he grows his hair long, dresses like a rock musician, and becomes the most notorious marijuana dealer on campus.

After being ejected from college, the newly minted hippie migrates to San Francisco where he attends weekly concerts at the Fillmore, finds disappointment at Woodstock, witnesses the Stones' ill-fated gig at the Altamont Racetrack, and gets busted (and acquitted) on drug charges.

For Jersey fans, there is a chapter about working a wheel of chance in Seaside Heights, one about his grandmother's amusement park on the boardwalk in Asbury Park, a "first-love" story in two parts, and some unusual high school escapades.

For San Francisco fans, we have Grateful Dead concerts in 1969, housesitting downstairs from Janis Joplin, living in Haight-Ashbury, and getting high with a little help from his friends. A special chapter features working at the Gaslight South folk music club in Coconut Grove, Florida, c.1968.

PRAISE FOR MR HOSCH'S FIRST BOOK, UNDERCOVER IN INDIA:

"This book will make you feel as if you were part of every scene, whether living the idealistic hippie life in San Francisco or alongside the colorful characters of the ashram in India. It's agenda-less storytelling where you don't feel as though they're trying to manipulate. This is the hallmark of Hosch's writing, and it's this quality that makes you hang on every word as he leads you from scene to scene, and as you meet each new character. His internal dialog is honest and endearing. I yearn for this kind of storytelling and wish more people told stories this way." RSF-Social Media Auteur

"Loved it! A sensitive exploration of the author's past. Vibrant characters come alive in colorful, real experiences. I found myself thinking about some of the scenarios when I should have been sleeping! WOW!" -MS, Business Owner

"A humorous tongue-in-cheek diary of a budding spiritual aspirant on a quest to discover his higher purpose in life. It is not your typical disciple-meets-guru story, yet its unfiltered account delivers insights that any seeker on the path can relate to. A must read for anyone interested in a lighthearted adventure in India perceived from a Westerner's eye!" -MF, Nutritionist

"The writing transported me right out of Miami and straight to Berkeley and Varanasi. Such an interesting mix of cynicism, hope, and humor. I look forward to reading more." -DT, Health Care Professional

"I felt like I was watching a movie, following along scene by scene. As the chapters progressed, I became more and more involved with the author's actions and thoughts. I liked the descriptions of the river, cows, incense, chanting, etc." -SD, Designer.
