I Just Want to be Understood & ...still be loved anyway

DESPITE our human short-comings and failures, we all still want to be covered with the blanket of understanding and love which is a crucial human need. We come into this broken world knowing nothing, but as we age, we start to learn and become lost in the entangled web of truth and lies; since this is the case, then it would be safe to say, that we are all pretty much 'playing' on the same level playing field, no matter our status in life. Therefore, if we all have the same challenges in trying to make sense of this mixed-up and painful world around us, wouldn't it then be in our best interest to not wait around for others to try and understand us? If we rely too heavily on people's understanding about ourselves, we run great risk of easily believing a lie and getting hurt in the process, when they either inadvertently or maliciously misrepresent our character. Therefore, wouldn't it be more prudent to first understand/empower ourselves through unbroken truth? It is only then, that we will become better equipped to stand tall in the face of adversity and therefore, stop being victims of ourselves.

In addition, when we have learnt to become more proactive and less reactive with ourselves, we can then gently guide others toward their own empowerment experience because in the greater scheme of things, we all need each other's sincere best.
