When the Chapmans had their first and only child they had to make a decision; would the infant be brought up as a boy or a girl? They made the wrong choice, naming the baby Kieth. At the age of sixteen, after the child's homophobic father had left the family home, and the mother had committed suicide suffering severe depression, Kieth became forever Known as Kacey Chapman.
Her beloved grandfather became her protector, and she was able to experience a family life full of love and understanding. Even though Kacey would eventually go to university she would visit him regularly, eager to hear his tales of gallantry from centuries past.
When Sir Grandad, a play on Sir Galahad, finally moved into a care home due to dementia, he relayed a story about Joan of Arc and the fact that Kacey was of the same bloodline. Kacey thought that he had finally succumbed to the disease. That is until he provided documentation which he maintained would prove the fact. As Kacey promised to use her gap year to follow the clues, a series of horrifying events began to unfold, including the murder of her dear old grandfather.
With the help of ex FBI Agent, and distant cousin Salonge Dupree, Kacey begins a quest in search of secrets hidden by Joan of Arc over six hundred years ago. The pair are soon pursued by a ruthless, secret organisation hell bent on keeping the integrity of French history, and that of the Catholic church intact.
