Melinda Trance is a rock star. For a decade, she has dominated the Canadian music scene with her strangely fascinating music and the mystique that surrounds her and her bizarre, little-known past. In the meantime, two people are conspiring to disgrace and destroy her as well: Evans' resentful former guitarist, and Toronto's psychopathic mayor, who in his former role as a judge was the one to send Evans to jail, and who, years before that, inflicted a terrible secret trauma upon him. As this threat dawns on her, she races to accomplish the final act of revenge that would free her and her lover both.
