Krissy boards the Amtrak headed across the country to San Francisco where she hopes to earn enough as an exotic dancer at a men's dance club to rebuild her life after a fire that destroyed her family's ranch, killed her parents, and left her fiancé hanging to life by a thread. Krissy's nickname among her girl pals is "Krissy the Insatiable," and she pays her train fare with favors for the conductor. Krissy's creativity makes for a busy four nights on the Southwest Chief. As it winds its way from Chicago to Union Station in Los Angeles Krissy meets a wealthy, and kinky, Texas cattle rancher and his two sons, and has a very personal tour of the locomotive cab. After the layover in Union Station, the Thruway Bus to Bakersfield, the San Joaquin to Sacramento, and finally the Capital Corridor to Jack London Square, Krissy is ready for the last leg of her journey. Krissy discovers that the ferry boat ride from the terminus of Amtrak's Capitol Corridor to Fisherman's Wharf is long enough for a ménage de trois. When the lights of San Francisco greet Krissy at last she has a nice grubstake and sets out to find a rooming house and a job.
