In Victorian England's shadowed alleys and grand parlors, aristocratic Lady Amelia Wickstead finally comes to terms with her supernatural abilities. She has a ghostly visit one night, who tells her that there is a sinister plot on the rise and she needs to prevent it from taking place. It appears that there is one Lord Patmore, who not only is a member of the nobility but is also a cunning and dangerous vampire and he has designs on the very heart of the British Empire. His nefarious plan is to assassinate the current Prime Minister, assume his identity, and then, with the rest of Parliament under his thrall, turn each of them into creatures of the night, ensuring eternal dominion over England. Not only does Amelia have to finally come to terms with understanding and accepting her immense magical powers, but she also finds herself being entrusted with the dangerous task of stopping Lord Patmore from committing England into eternal darkness. In a race against time, Amelia has to learn how to use and control her vast powers. To overcome and confront all the doubts and fears she has concerning her abilities in order to rise above the stigma that she herself has placed on her own head of not being normal so that she can face the vampire lord in a final confrontation. Amidst the backdrop of gaslit streets and whispered conspiracies, the fate of an empire hangs in the balance.
