LITTLE WORDS

Monique Boyd announces the publication of her collection of flash fiction, Little Words. Each story has single word titles to make readers think about how much can be said with a single word. The collection will be released on January 16, 2025, for $.99, everywhere eBooks are sold.

The collection begins with "Hope", a story about Ella, a young woman from a small country town. While the world is reeling from an apocalyptic turn in livestock and crops alike, she is waiting to find out if she is pregnant and talks to her mother about whether she should abort.

"Depleted" follows Stone, a very large guard, who's one day on duty never seems to end. After getting talked into trading with a friend for what should have been an easy shift, he teaches readers about a man's true strength and vigilance.

"Hoo" explores the scars trauma and grief can leave. A teenager desperate to escape her current situation and the small town she has been forced to live in learns to let go when nothing she plans goes her way.

The final entry, "Dreams" is a look at the blurred lines between dreams and nightmares. In the wake of the king's death, war looms in the Land of Dreams leaving princess Zara to bring peace. She'll challenge her foe to rethink his stance on the worth and goodness of man.
