Learn to be a happy, kind person - someone who wants things to get done. Being cheerful and kind is an asset that is often under-appreciated. It makes people feel comfortable and make decisions easily. Kindness is truly a virtue. Why have people said in the past that being a good person is acceptable behavior? In fact, that is the only acceptable course of action. (Kindness doesn't mean being soft. Kindness is caring, thoughtful, and tough.)

Be kind, but before it goes too far, reinforce what you're looking to achieve and what you've achieved through experience.

Get it all done

You can talk about action, but it's important that you do it. The majority of successful and famous people I know are great project managers - getting things done. Take what needs to be done and do it. Show that you are a "doer."

For example, I hired a very smart young woman to transform an organization by bringing it back to basics and strengthening it. The result is growth. She is both a doer and a thinker, but it is the doing that creates impact.
