Leahs middle school history class is preparing to go on a pre-Thanksgiving trip to the nearby state park to learn more about the Native American cultures they study in class. Part of the trip involves an assignment where the kids can either take photographs or draw pictures that depict their experiences at the park and what they learn.
In this story, Leah is excited to be going on the class trip because to her it is like a treasure hunt. However, the weekend before the trip, her experiences take an unexpected turn.
