A humorous novel of attempted treason and outrageous sexual eccentricity and gutter journalism concerning a savant boy chemical genius, the current military high command and their joint attempt to blow up the British Houses of Parliament in a modern version of the Gunpowder Plot. Driven by a boy wonder explosives inventor who can only function if his newly discovered sexual deviancy involving the stiletto shod feet of attractive women is fully satisfied, the narrative also features the involvement of the four Joint Chiefs of Staff and the highest level of government. We also meet the uni-limbed editor of a popular tabloid newspaper who also has a bomb-bedevilled and peculiar sexual habit and who bears a massive grudge against the British Army for the loss of his leg below the knee. The blasphemous humour is understated and subtle and the story builds towards a big finale that holds a surprise.
