Letter of Recommendation and Retaliation (French: lettre de marque; Lettre de course) is a government license in the age of navigation that allows private individuals, also known as private individuals or warships to attack and seize national ships at war with the issuer. Once caught, private individuals can take the case of the award to their own admiral's court for guilt and transfer of ownership to the private sector. A letter of recommendation and retaliation will include an authorization to cross international borders to perform retaliation. (Taking some action against attack or injury) and authorized by the jurisdiction that issued the off-border retaliation action.
Popular with Europeans from the late Middle Ages to the 19th century, an enemy reward cruise with a branded letter is a noble calling that unites patriotism and profit. Such privacy is in contrast to the unlicensed attacks and boat catches and is called copyright infringement. Copyright infringement is almost revoked. In fact, the difference between private and pirate is often the deepest and worst is the matter of interpretation.
In addition to the meaning of the license, the letters of the trademark and private terms are sometimes used to describe the ships used for tracking and prize draws. In this context, a letter of recommendation is a wooden, square-shaped carrier that may be awarded if the opportunity arises in performing normal duties. On the other hand, the term privateer generally refers to a fast and weather rigged ship, heavily armed and purposeful crew.
