Liquid Diets

Liquid diets are used for many medical conditions such as pancreatitis, digestive complications; irritable bowel syndrome, Crohn's disease, gall bladder problems, weight loss, oesophageal problems, post surgery for oral surgeries, most stomach surgeries including bariatric surgeries such as gastric banding or bypass and bowel surgery. The problem with many liquid diets is the lack of variety and poor nutritional value.
The following recipes were created for this very reason during a period of diet restrictions for my own health issues. Variety was the key to maintaining interest in food and ensuring nutritional value as I am a professional business woman and a mother with a very demanding lifestyle.
Serving sizes are kept small due to low intake required for many of these medical and surgical conditions. Consistency has also been kept at a liquid level suitable for drawing up through a straw.
