After witnessing his uncontrollable temper, Annie Thompson abandons her burgeoning love for Nathan Miller. When she leaves her new relationship to return to him, she finds that Nathan has a new girlfriend. Does Nathan still want her, or is he content with the love he has found in his new relationship?

Dissatisfied with his life in Washington, Nathan Miller decides to close down his restaurant. He leaves his family business line and moves to a small town, Dyersville, to start a piggery business.

Annie Thompson, freshly divorced and on a journey to find healing in different parts of the world, travels to Dyersville. She walks into a play theater and sees Nathan. Suddenly consumed by feelings she cannot explain, Annie runs out.

Nathan does not stop until he finds her; they are inseparable this time. Well, not until Annie witnesses the extent of his anger and decides to leave him unannounced.

Annie continues her trips and meets another man, Joseph Smith, who is madly in love with her. However, she cannot get over Nathan. She jilts Joseph to return to Dyersville, where she faces a new reality. Nathan has moved on to a new woman, Jane Jones. But does Nathan's heart still belong to her?
