To get a sound grip on the subject, a beginner's course in marine microbiology is very important so that the essence of this branch of environmental science can diffuse in a clear and accessible form to the student community. None of the text books available in the country, at present accomplishes these goals of understanding, identifying and culturing the marine microbes.
