Parker Talbot doesn't need complications. For him, killing people is his job. He doesn't love it and he doesn't necessarily hate it but it's the one thing he's always been good for. His life works on the very idea of being prepared and ready for anything. He's just a machine, planning and then waiting for the perfect time to strike without anyone ever knowing. Plotting his every move without anything getting in his way. His new target is nobody special. The mark is just a man, the new middle school principle and an easy hit. Kasey lives a life of solitude. Going to work, counseling the kids at the local middle school just outside of the town of Maroon, then going home to an empty apartment. She barely scrapes by from month to month. Her only treat to herself is having Sunday dinner at the diner down the street and indulging in a slice of homemade pie. She doesn't need or want much of anything until he walks in and saddles up next to her at the bar for a cup of coffee to go. Everything screams at her to stay away but she can't.
