This entirely new book by the late Peter Newman and Paul Roberts is based on an eighteen year battlefield survey by Paul Roberts and the unrivalled knowledge of the subject by Dr Newman. With eight colour plates, maps and photographs the book will remain the standard work on the battle for the foreseeable future.
About the Authors
Dr P R. Newman wrote extensively on the period of the English Civil wars, with particular emphasis upon Royalist army command. His doctoral thesis dealt with the Royalist Army in Northern England and his published work includes 'Royalist Officers in England and Wales, 1642 - 1660' and 'The Old Service'.
Paul R Roberts was born in 1957 in Leicestershire. He gained a secondary comprehensive eduction where he developed an interest in the English civil war and Marston Moor in particular. He began his own programme of research in 1984 in order to investigate the truth concerning the battle. This had resulted in the most comprehensive study of a battlefield, not just in English civil war terms, but in post medieval battlefield studies in the UK and possibly worldwide.
