As they started their journey across the field, they could see a truck load of timbers heading in the same direction. A large crane stood idle at the gap in the perimeter fence, its job done for the day. Three of four long lengths of timbers were hanging from its hook, tied back to the base of the arm to stop them swaying in any wind. Dusk was starting to settle over the base. "Chris's going to be busy by the look of that lot." said Toby to the driver as he pointed out the large load of timbers on the truck heading for the perimeter gap. Just as they were passing the crane a rabbit decided it was time to play chicken with the driver. It was the driver who backed down first, tapping the brakes. The rabbit ran and the driver set off again. "Sorry about that sir a rabbit..." The timbers attached to the crane swung forward and smashed into Toby's staff car killing the driver instantly. The force of the impact swung the car to the left and twisted the timbers around on the hook. As the car came to a halt Toby finally realised what had happened. Seeing the drivers head smashed he knew he must exit the vehicle at once as he could smell fuel.
