January 1939. When the British Foreign Minister receives a phone call from Berlin, Amsterdam must be warned. Forces within the Dutch government are working on staging a terrorist attack on their own soil to trigger war with Germany, but is the threat taken seriously and will they prevent mass casual-ties?

When Celestina is flown from Barcelona to Berlin, she expects anything. Except being assigned to Amsterdam by the Nazis to stage a terrorist attack that will trigger war. Horrified by the idea of working for the enemy and killing civilians, she must choose between her own life or the lives of millions.

Frank has settled in Amsterdam and is making a living as a pho tographer. He enjoys capturing the city and reporting news for the papers. When an old aquaintance from Barcelona arrives in the city, he is dragged into events that may cost millions of lives. He must figure out what Celestina is up to before he becomes the first victim.

Marleen enjoys being a jazz singer, but the letter from Germany saying she must return sounds like a death sentence. She has two weeks to vanish, find a new life, new identity, new country to live in. Frank may be her ticket out of here, but as they lose control of events, her hope of escape is all but gone.
