Nata ad Arsita il 5 gennaio 1962 in provincia di Teramo, Donatella Di Pietrantonio è una delle scrittrici più amate della letteratura contemporanea italiana. Arriva alla scrittura non subito, infatti da Teramo si trasferisce dapprima a L’Aquila dove si laurea in Odontoiatria nel 1986 e successivamente a Penne, in provincia di Pescara, dove ha esercitato la professione di dentista pediatrico.
