George D. Liu () graduated from Wuhan Medical School in China in 1976. He did medical research at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 1987. He entered into graduate school at the University of Minnesota in 1989, where he studied Biophysics. He has been a columnist for MN TIMES () from 2016 to the present.
