My e-book describes Kawasaki Disease from its first diagnosis in Tokyo, Japan in 1967. By 1985 the doctor for whom the disease is named became the head of the Japanese Red Cross in Tokyo. My research places particular emphasis on Kawasaki Disease outbreaks in New England (1980) and Monroe County (1979) New York. Medical experts are quoted as well as health administrators who dealt with the respective outbreaks. Before being renamed for Dr. Tomisaku Kawasaki, the disease was mucocutaneous lymph node syndrome.
