As for the story, much of it takes place in modern day Britain starting with a young man's discovery of an ancient and incredibly valuable manuscript that exposes the location of an undiscovered Christian relic, 'The True Cross'.

A millenia and a half ago, Tiberius Nerva Severus, a Roman General of the Sixth Legion, took his position as Commandant of Fort Vinovium Britannia to escape the new Emperor, little could he imagine the firestorm he was about to ignite. The Christian relic he held on to so tightly was about to seriously change his life as well as the lives of people unknown to him hundreds of years into the future.

Cardinal Joseph Auriol was the principal member of The Sacred College of Cardinals and Head of the Curia, successor to the notorious Roman Inquisition. The Cardinal once uttered the words, "All those involved, once located, are to be moved to a place of no possible return." The Cardinal was of course blind to the fact that in forty short years a boy, of just fourteen, was destined to ruin his plans.

This fourteen-year-old prodigy, Nathan Loyd is destined to discover an ancient manuscript within which details the location of a treasure. A treasure so important that elements from the lowest to the highest in society will stop at nothing to steal it. The discovery of this Anglo-Saxon Chronicle reveals not only the location of the buried treasure but also leads to the tragic and brutal death of his Father and mentor.

Nathan had much to overcome in three short years. Becoming a man, losing a father, taking part in secret government experiments and exposure to the unrelenting media spotlight, all took their toll.
