Neighbors Three Return of the Movie Star is a three-act play to be performed on a stage in front of an audience. Honey Solomon has returned to rural Pennsylvania after acting in a Hollywood movie. Her traveling companion, Tynan Gillespie, is also an actor. Both plan to act in an Ibsen play in summer theater. Tension develops between Tynan and Greg Desantos, Honey's old boyfriend. Esther Solomon insists that if Tynan is to stay at their home, then he has to be a waiter at her new restaurant, The Happy Pumpkin. All the young people work at The Pumpkin, and discord quickly prevails. Then, in the middle of a dispute between Greg and Tynan, Honey is injured. Tynan encourages Honey to continue in her summer theater role, where she ultimately succeeds. Does Greg's jealousy lead to Tynan's defeat?
