New Year, New Customs is the eighth book in the SINGAPO: Discovering Chinese Singaporean Culture series. It tells the story of a young boy's first experience of celebrating Chinese New Year in Singapore. During Chinese New Year, the young boy accompanied his cousin to visit their grandmother. They offered her mandarin oranges, ate a variety of uniquely Singaporean Chinese New Year food, and proclaimed auspicious phrases while tossing the yusheng. This made his first Chinese New Year experience in Singapore meaningful and memorable.
