An unlikely love story between an English violinist on tour and a very reserved gentleman.
Ever since the opening night of Don Giovanni at Vienna Court Opera, someone is sending Hugo Farrell a dozen red roses anonymously after every performance, which leads to jealousy and speculative gossip among the rest of the orchestra. Hugo and his only friend Christian try to solve the mystery, but no one seems to know who is sending the roses or why.
However, Hugo never notices the tall and elegantly dressed gentleman who is watching him quietly from his private opera box as Hugo plays the violin.
And then one evening, the worst thing imaginable happens and everything changes

Keywords: Gay romance, Vienna, opera, Stradivarius, m/m erotica.

An extract from the story:
"Who sent the roses?" Hugo said and grabbed the boy by the arm. "Tell me!"
"Ich weiß es nicht," the boy replied and struggled to get free. "I do not know."
"Do not lie to me!" Hugo said in halting German, since he realised that the young boy probably did not understand English.
"I swear it is true!"
"I do not believe you. What were you doing in the violinists' room?"
"I did not deliver any roses," the boy said. "I only delivered a parcel."
"A parcel?" Hugo thought he had misheard the boy. "From whom?"
"I don't know. Please let me go!"
The boy shook his head, but Hugo tightened his grip. If this was a stupid joke, he would find out who was behind it.
"Tell me!"
"Herr Theodore Van der Heyden sent me!" the boy said at last. "But please do not tell anyone I said that; it was meant to be a secret."
