No Holds Barred

These stories came to me as dreams, in the middle of the night; fanciful dreams, pleasant, sometimes horrible, sometimes sexually titillating scenes that popped up in my mind as I slept. We cannot control what goes on in our head, just like we cannot choose with whom we fall in love, especially when asleep! Yes, there are disquieting details in these short stories but they are not written as horror stories; there are several sexual passages, but they are not written to titillate, but written because I needed to truthfully depict how people in love execute coitus. So this is not adulterated children literature, nor are these stories of science fiction and fantasy written uniquely to entertain: These stories did not come to me in the middle of the night just to entertain me! Or did they? They had to mean more than that; they are metaphors that my mind used to camouflage the true horror of living in our present times living with the perpetual assault of people trying to control how you think, how you live; a dysfunctional people who call making love sinful, but have no qualms separating mothers from their children, killing their neighbors because they look different, or letting pollution kill off the wildlife. These dreams were tales full of hidden messages, and after several years of soul searching, they finally had to come out. It was like telling the story of all the things that concerned my life, my state of mind, but written out as simple tales of science fiction and fantasy with no holds barred.So if you set out to write down tales of science fiction and fantasy as they came in a form of inspiration you must translate them honestly, as they took place in your night vision hallucination. Most importantly for me, an avid reader of the classics and the great writers of the world's literature, it was essential to write the tales with the proper sensibility. My mother tongue is French, but through the course of living and becoming a citizen of the earth, I suddenly find myself writing in English, so writing well is a challenge; such a challenge that it took 20 years for these stories to come out and get fully fleshed out in simple clear sentences. I waited all this time for the right moment to tell these tales, which will most likely be the last stories I will ever write with no holds barred. And that's okay; I am proud of them.Enjoy!
