BioAug's latest technological invention, a genetic-altering chamber, is the topic of discussion for the company's employees, and the source for one man's unfortunate gender-changing transformation. Pamela cocked her hip to the side, stealing a glance at what was underneath the sheet, before turning her attention to her notebook and jotting some more words down. "My best interns are on it right now. I don't expect you should be stuck as a girl for very long. All of your genetic information is saved on the hard drives. We'll just have to wait "

Craig nearly jumped when the woman's phone buzzed, and he eyed the small device as she retrieved it from her purse and pressed the speaker to her ear. Pamela's face went through several shifts in emotion, fading from sternness for being interrupted, to surprise from the information passed from the voice on the other end. Then, the tenacity returned.

"What do you mean it isn't working? You explained to me just the other night how all information is logged and saved on ten different drives."

Craig's eyes went to his body, and he watched as his toes curled amongst the carpet fibers. Suddenly, his current situation seemed more daunting than it was just a few seconds ago.

"Excuse me," Pamela said to him, quickening her pace for the door and leaving the transformed man in privacy once again. Her voice carried down the adjacent hallway until the door shut behind her, and Craig listened until he couldn't discern it from the silence anymore.

From one foot to the other his weight shifted, and Craig sensed the distinct changes in his posture and how they changed his body underneath the sheet. Even when he couldn't see the altered flesh with his own eyes, there was no way to pretend that everything was back to normal. It would take several pairs of clothes to hide the additional weights on his chest, and more to smooth out the curves below his waist. He could always get his hair cut, and attaining a male style wouldn't be difficult. But what after that? he asked himself. He'd still be a girl pretending to pass as his former gender, and no one would mistake him for the man he was costuming as.
