One So Precious Among Us

On June 3, 1998, eleven-year-old Rachel's life was lost in a tragic accident. In the days, weeks and months that followed her parents were encouraged to write down their thoughts and feelings before they were forgotten. The result is a story that tenderly shares their experience of coming to terms with the loss of a child while maintaining faith in God. By sharing their story, they hope that you may be comforted by knowing there are reasons why we can peacefully endure even the most difficult experiences. Even after Rachel's death, it was evident there were many people who were still having a hard time with it, and who wondered why it had happened. But although Rachel's life had been short, her parents felt that it had been her time to depart this life. As time passed, through their own writings and in talking with others, they were filled with a sense of wonder and awe as the puzzling aspects of Rachel's life finally came together. Through poignant memories, shared by her parents and those who knew her, one can find hope that even when life is the hardest, having faith can bring peace.
