"Our Mutual Friend" is the last novel by Charles Dickens and is considered as one of his most heavy works. The main idea of the novel refers to words of critic J. Hilis Miller "money, money, money, and what money can make of life" and arrises questions of human values in difficult living conditions. The main character basically is John Harmon recently returned to London to obtain his inheritance but taking into account other circumstances money passes away from him. The novel gained the world popularity and numerously became the screenplays due to its theme of showing the destructive power of money.
