Paddo's and poodles, part one, The complex legacy of the controversial Carlo Mengozzi

Erik Schmidt inherits a house and four hundred hectares of farmland in Apulia. Carlo Mengozzi, the friend of his previously deceased father, leaves him this property.

But there is more, behind the house is a workshop with state-of-the-art equipment. This also includes a partially developed plan to set up a special production process that starts with agriculture. When Erik accepts the inheritance, he must give shape to a dream of his father and Carlo Mengozzi. He also must adopt Chouffino, a small toy poodle with whom Carlo had a special relationship.

Notary Loretta Cavelli, who works as a volunteer in the library of the seminary of Otranto, must deal with abuses in the basilica after a special discovery. She manages to prevent relic theft and as a reward she is allowed to do research in an old attic next to the basilica. There she discovers some special documents.
