Nurse Brianna has always been overweight and never feels like she truly belongs anywhere except at work. She lives for her work until she is accused of killing her wealthy patient, Harold. Hounded by the media she moves in with an old friend and assumes a new identity. Under her friend's influence, she learns to take life less seriously, and by taking risks, discovers a part of her personality she did not realize existed. No longer dragged down by her own insecurities Brianna finds true happiness and acceptance. Then she learns information which could prove she was not responsible for Harold's death. She must now choose whether to risk the life she has formed to clear her name or forever live a lie. Lucinda seems to have it all. She is tall, attractive and can have anything money can buy. Unfortunately, what Lucinda wants cannot be bought. Recently divorced after the strain her infertility put on her marriage, she feels totally alone and useless after her father's death. Searching for meaning in her life she volunteers at a homeless shelter where she becomes a valuable asset and learns how much she does have to give and all that she has to be grateful for. Natalie is a single mom who works all day and then spends the evenings alone worrying about money and her son's health. If only she had someone to share her burdens, she is certain she could be happy. Then she learns she is implicated in Harold's death and may lose everything. Having always dealt with her problems alone, she has no one to turn to. After Harold's death the three women's lives become intertwined and an unusual friendship forms. After the threat of losing all that is important to them, each woman realizes how their own perceptions have kept them from fulfilling their dreams. With the acceptance gained from their new relationships each woman finds the strength to fight for what they want.
