Pet Stops

Usually a recipe doesn't garner much attention, especially for Jamie Evans, who has no culinary abilities whatsoever. But these recipes are printed on bright pink paper and keep showing up in the homes of the posh Granite Ridge Estates subdivision, where Jamie works as a pet sitter. An exclusive recipe exchange club? Jamie doesn't think so, since the list of ingredients includes reeth, raudented coollah, and ripe hodupen seed. She's never heard of these ingredients, but they have a sinister tone. Jamie's former boyfriend and detective, Parker Manning, is investigating something in Granite Ridge, but when she mentions the recipes to him, Parker tells her he doesn't have time for such nonsense. She feels foolish for asking, yet the recipes nag at her.

As a pet sitter, Jamie is adamantly against snooping in her clients' homes. She is in their homes to care for their animals, not to read their mail or search through their closets and drawers. Still, she's faced with a dilemma: If her clients are involved in something nefarious, is it okay to get nosy?

Though Jamie has a strong belief in God and keeps in constant communication with Him throughout the day, she has difficulty knowing when He's directing her. She also tends to have her mind on the animals in her care, oblivious to her surroundings, putting her in danger when she stumbles into her clients' illegal activities.

With an assortment of amusing animal characters, Pet Stops offers an entertaining mixture of humor, romance and suspense.
