Pilgrimage to the West

"Pilgrimage to the West" is one of the four famous Chinese classics , and the "Three Kingdoms", "Dream of Red Mansions", "Outlaws of the Marsh" together represent the highest achievements of ancient vernacular novel. "Pilgrimage to the West" is the story of the Tang Dynasty monk Xuanzang's pilgrimage to the west. In Tianzhu , he visited temple monks, humbly asked assiduously, learned more than two years and made 657 sutras, He returned to Chang'an in the nineteenth year of Zhenguan Dynasty (AD 645 ). Xuan Zang's travel which lasted more than ten years and processed thousands of miles was a legendary adventure. Afterwards, Xuanzang dictated westbound horizons. Compiled by his disciples and made into a "Buddhist records" involving twelve volumes telling about all seen on road of human geography of countries. And his disciples Hui Li , Yan Cong wrote "Big Tang Da Ci En Temple Tripitaka Master" which was about Xuanzang's experience adding a lot of myth. Xuanzang's sprit of toughness, braveness and diligently exploring the spiritual side of the act itself aroused people's admiration. The process of the travel and all the hardships Xuan Zang endured make this event cast miraculous color. "Pilgrimage to the West" is a treasure of our cultural heritage .
