The Scottish Humanist George Buchanan's poetic paraphrase of the psalms of David took a lifetime and garnered much attention for its author. This work not shows only Christian devotion, but is also an excellent example of neo-Latin poetry, a first-rate work with a sensitive appreciation for classical authors.
