A Prayer Guide for Raising a Godly Son - A Power Packed Word Of God Based Godly Character and Life Style Formation Prayers for Your Son

Every parent desires to raise kids who are God-fearing, obedient to parents, respectful, with well-formed character and a godly life style.

The scripture declares in: Psalms 51:5 "Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me"

In other words, every child has the tendency of tilting towards sin, waywardness, rebellion, disobedience to parents, and a life of wrong doing. As soon as a child is born, the sin cycle begins to form and take root in that child and that is why as parents we are asked in Proverbs 22:6 to:

"Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it"

Raising a godly Son is a spiritual task that requires spiritual methods geared towards getting your Son out from the wrong path of evil the devil has mapped out for him to follow. No amount of talking, rebuking and disciplining a child can truly change and transform a child unto godliness. These are carnal methods. In as much as these methods are good and recommended, you cannot use carnal methods ONLY to achieve a spiritual life change in a child unto godliness.

Godliness has to do with a complete restructuring and programing of a person's life, heart, mind, character and life style by the power of the Holy Spirit at work in that person heart and life. It is a complete transformation from anti godly tendencies and character traits to a life that is governed by the Spirit, Power and the Word of God.

Going back to the scripture, the Word of God declares that we should: Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it

The training of a girl child is not complete without taking out time in the day to pray specific life and godly character building prayers for him. The life, future, destiny and heart of a child is so precious and fragile, that we should protect it and defend it; and one of the ways to effectively do this is by praying for them

Talking, instructing, counseling, commanding and even disciplining your girl child may not always get his heart to change in the direction of righteousness. In order words, talking, counseling, disciplining, commanding and instructing your girl child should not be the ONLY thing that you do in training and bringing him up in the way that he should follow. You should also complement these efforts with prayer for him

To successfully raise a godly Son requires solid and consistent prayers to God for him and for him heart to respond positively to your parenting, and for God to give you the accuracy of parenting wisdom, discernment and grace. It takes the grace of God to get this done, and this grace comes by prayer. No matter how far gone into waywardness that your Son might have gone, prayer can turn your Son around for good.
