Capturing a witch was dangerous, even deadly, and Amelie had the scars to show it. Fortunately, the princess-turned-knight didn't have much difficulty catching the latest witch, and now all she had to do was turn the other woman to the villagers she intended to curse.
It was supposed to be a fairly straightforward task, and once done the world would have been rid of another monster, but there was something wrong. The witch was scared and frail, not as dangerous as Amelie was told, and the villagers seemed intent on destroying her at any cost despite the reassurances of a fair trial they had given Amelie.
There was more to the history she had been fed, and Amelie intended to find what it was. What she couldn't imagine was that the witch she captured might be the answer she had been searching for all along, and that with her help she might one day be able to cure her sister.
