The Prospects for the American Age, is about the new world order. The book consists of seven chapters that revolve around theory, history, emergence, current status and future of the world order. Drawing on his academic training and practical experience, Dr. Jamal Sanad Al-Suwaidi reveals the ultimate challenges for the world order in the twenty-first century. He critically explains the most important structure, influential factors and forces of the new world order.

The book starts with conceptual paradigm of the new world order, and moves forward to examine the influential factors and dynamic interaction within the world order. The author provides historical and analytical understanding and transformations of the world order and its effects in the nature of contemporary global realities. He focuses on the importance of economic influence in the hierarchal structure of the new world order as well as samples public opinion survey conducted in the UAE about the new world order. The book discusses the potential structural, strategic changes of the new world order in the future with a critical evaluation about the different features that determine the ranking of the future world powers. Finally, the book examines the position of the Middle East and particularly the Arab World and their roles in the current and future world order.

Grounded in Al-Suwaidi's deep knowledge of history and his research experience, the book guides the readers through crucial episodes in critical far and recent world political history. Al-Suwaidi offers a unique glimpse into the inner dynamics and conflicts between the United States of America as the dominant super power and with its rivals as Russia, China and the European Union. In clear and precise elaboration, the author offers compelling insights into the future of the USA relation with the emerging and competing for dominant power like China, Russia and the European Union. Moreover, the author extends his analysis and examines the lessons of other countries especially Japan, India, Brazil and their roles in the global arena.

Taking readers from his analysis of America's economics, military advancement, energy resources, transportation, education, culture, and technological progress and other factors, The Prospects for the American Age anchors Al-Suwaidi's scientific analysis in the decisive events of our time. Al-Suwaidi believes, the structure of the new world order is hierarchal, mounted by the United States of America alone at the top, followed by chronological order started with second group that includes Russia, China and the European Union, and a third group which consisting of Japan, India and Brazil, and followed by the rest of the world.

The author anticipates that the American influence in international financial institutions will increase, and that over the next decade Washington will reduce its dependence on oil from regions plagued by risk and instability in the Middle East and that might affect US policy in the region. The author suggests that the conflict in the Arab World might have some impacts in the world arena. Yet, he believes that the internal crises in major Arab countries like Egypt, Syria and Iraq, in addition to the obstacles of developments in the Arab states might hinder the improvements in the region. After all, Al-Suwaidi strongly deducts that the USA unipolarity will continue having a variety of impacts on the world. As a result, the author believes that the United State of America will remain as the dominant world super power for at least a further five decades. Al-Suwaidi's idea on the world order display a force and resonance that leaves him pretty much in a class of by himself.
