After a chance meeting with fellow linguist Colonel Pickering, phonetics professor Henry Higgins makes a bet that he can pass off a Cockney flower seller as a duchess, simply by changing how she speaks. However, Eliza Doolittle offers Higgins more of a challenge than he ever dreamed and unexpectedly captures his heart. Will society accept Eliza as one of their own? Or will the experiment be a complete failure?

One of the most popular English-language comedies, Pygmalion was a smashing success on the Vienna, New York, and London stages. George Bernard Shaw's retelling of the Greek myth of Pygmalion and Galatea inspired the Oscar-winning film version of the musical My Fair Lady.
