The surface of the earth is approximately 71% covered with water. Of this water, less than 1% is suitable for human needs.
Various economists, geographers, and politicians have suggested that water usage, rights, and/or ownership may soon be more important in international relations and environmental issues than petroleum products.
Water is necessary for life itself. Man cannot live without a regular intake of water. Furthermore, the water should be free of toxic wastes and disease causing organisms.
I think it is imperative that all people should have, at minimum, a rudimentary knowledge of water, how to find it, and how to make it safe to drink. Hopefully, this document is a step in that direction.
