This is the story of a young kid fresh out of high school who joins the Navy to get an education. He got an education, but not the one he had expected.
Follow him through boot camp, Vietnam, "A" school, and out into the fleet. He gets sent to Vietnam three times, loses his best friend, his girl friend and his adopted Chinese family.
To realize what this young man went through, and how he somehow retained his sanity is heart wrenching. What he went through would break most men or drive them crazy.
