Different KindsReach Your Kind

There are different kinds of people moving out of rural areas into urban centers, moving from the North into the South daily; different kinds of people among northern migrants and immigrants in the neighborhood of the Church. And there are also different kinds of believers in the Church who interface and interact with these different "people groups" daily in the marketplace. This daily interfacing between migrants and believers into host communities present great ministry opportunities for believers to reach their kind with the gospel of salvation.

This book presents the constantly changing kaleidoscope of migrating "people groups" into the neighborhoods of all our churches today. The author then suggests linking up specific social economic groups within local churches with these migrating 'people groups' for the purpose of Gospel outreach. Reach Your Kind in Diaspora Missions clearly highlights for believers that irrespective of their location, profession, church affiliation and station in life, each should reach his/her kind. It gives a specific list of 'people groups' among migrants in order to make the work of Diaspora Missions more focused and effective.

Right where you stand reach your kind in diaspora missions.

Reach Your kind

This book blew my thoughts and set me thinking deeply. It strengthens my passion for Diaspora Missions by clearly highlighting for believers that irrespective of your location, profession, church affiliation, and station in life, you should reach your kind. It presents to us the dream and vision that we as Christians should have in the practice of Diaspora Missions in our neighborhood.

We have come to a time when every church member should understand God's redemptive plan in global migrations and how to respond biblically. If we are to respond appropriately and adequately, we must equip the saints. This is what the author, Bro. John, has attempted to do in this book. We are not only presented with facts, we are also challenged to pray as the writer helps us to see what we should pray about.

There is a challenge I saw in the book, learning from the zeal and commitment of those who spread Islam into the nooks and crannies of our communities and the globe through the hijra (migration) strategy. I am tempted as I read this book to say that if the Great Commission had been given to Muslims, they would have covered and conquered faraway lands or would have finished the task by now.

As you read this book, you should not stay idle but respond. We have to mobilize the whole Church to reach their kinds. There should be no dichotomy between the pulpit and the pew; everyone must be equipped for this task that is the King's business for this hour and it requires haste. We will do well to carefully divide our areas of influence into the forty five 'people groups' highlighted and thrust men and women in our churches and fellowships to reach them. Where we don't have enough hands for the forty five, then we can look and take our bit from the list. One striking thing is that you cannot say you have no part or can't cross their paths to reach them.

The noise in the Church quarter on the Muslim agenda and the support of political powers seems to present the Church as if we have no agenda. Here is a clear and unambiguous agenda that we should run with that Bro. John has written by the leading of the Spirit. It's plain and now let us run with it.

I recommend this book not just for believers' personal use but for use in our Sunday schools, Bible study groups, prayer meetings and prayer conferences. It should be part of textbooks in Bible schools and Seminaries if we are to rise and make Ishmael to bow and Christ to be enthroned.

So therefore, rise up and reach your kind among the migrants and immigrants right where you are!
